Our firm is based in Ottawa, the Federal Capital of Canada, where it is conveniently located within a short walking distance from the Parliament Buildings, as well as the Federal and Supreme Courts of Canada, where a large majority of all patent, trade-mark, copyright and industrial design cases are tried.
Our Ottawa office is across the Ottawa River from the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, which enables us to deal promptly and effectively with any kind of search, conducting interviews with Federal Patent and Trade-mark Examiners, and for attending hearings of the Patent Appeal Board, or any other general attendance at the Patent Office on behalf of our clients.
As a result of our close proximity to the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, and additionally as a result of the size of our staff, and our personal attendances at the Canadian Patent Office, several professionals on our staff have become very well acquainted with most of the examining staff and senior officials at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office. This direct and personalized contact facilitates our dealings with the Patent Office, and allows us to take direct prompt and favourable action on behalf of our domestic and international clients.
The location of our Ottawa office also allows us to represent our clients, not only in the field of patents, trade-marks, copyrights and industrial designs, but also in connection with other important related matters, such as licensing, importation, food and drug, or any other commercial or industrial matters in which our clients may be interested.
